Pixels in Scorpius

Good evening

This image is roughly centered on NGC 6259 in Scorpius and comprises Ha(Ha+R)GB of 17:4:4:4 hours for a total of 29 hours.

http://www.martinpughastrophotograph...s/HaRGB-V4.jpg (4Mb)

The Ha frame on its own is amazing, which I will upload later.

Tak FSQ106N/SBIG STL11K Astrodon filters (Ha 3nm)

thanks for checking it out

Martin

Beautiful image, though it's an interesting region with no real standout object.

Nice Martin. 29 hours is massive. Hard to do at this time of the year.

Thanks folks.

Paul - if it puts it into context for you - the first image was taken on 27 May and the last on 7 Jul.

I agree though - the weather has been shocking and I am almost routinely fogged out by midnight.

cheers
Martin

Hi Martin,

Is that where you are shooting from? Uggh!

The color in this image is fantastic. I'm right in the middle of a 20 segment mosaic project of this area and beyond in Ha.

John - I guess it all depends on when you click on that link as the image refreshes every 10 minutes during hours of darkness....so you might get to see a really good view, or a sky full of clouds.

Cant wait to see your mega-mosaic.

cheers
Martin
