Yes Roland negatives are something quite different and beautiful, I used to do my own developing and printing B&W for many years until i turned to the dark side.
The thing about Negs is that they can 100 plus years old and if kept well will always produce the same image without much degrading.
Not some thing you will find in the digital world, and they the Negs don't suffer from any sensor noise, you don't need dark's or lights bios and the like.
Admittedly you are limited, but you can always turn your Neg into digital format and still have the original, so to speak.
A bit like the old days when one would buy a LP record play it once and record it to a Cassette Tape and store the vinyl for safe keeping and scratches.
