Jon Lord Dead

Jon Lord has passed away, a victim of pancreatic cancer.

I know there are many people on this site who know his work. I first heard Deep Purple when I was 14 and they were, along with Zeppelin, my favourite band of that genre. Over the last decade I've heard some of the wonderful solo albums he did latter in life and had gained a new respect for him. A sad day.

Goodbye Jon
The Hammond B3/C3 will never be the same without you
You rocked our world with wonderful music
This is probably the end of Deep Purple
cos who can replace you
Rest in Peace my friend
But your music will live on forever

Sad
This was announced on ABC Classic FM this morning and stated that he was a great classical composer and will be missed. A man of many talents.

A sad day for rock, Sweet Child In Time from the Deep Purple In Rock is still one of my Favourite tracks from that band and he was a fine classical composer to boot. Time to pause for reflection, he wiil be missed.

Jeff
