DWB111 in Hubble Palette

....otherwise known as the Propeller Nebula, this object is located in Cygnus. Leveraging off the reasonable results I obtained from 1 hour subs of the Crescent Nebula taken during full moon, I used this approach again for this image. A good idea given this has no OIII emission really.

http://www.martinpughastrophotograph...ges/DWB111.jpg

So total exposure time was (SHO) 5.5:8.5:18.5 hrs (32.5 hrs all up)

thanks for looking

Martin

Sublime!

By the way Martin you can add the image to your post using attachments (the paperclip symbol) and it now shows a thumbnail image with your original post.

Greg.

A beautiful photo Martin.

An object I have not seen before.

The colours and tones are so smooth.

Thanks.

Ross.

Quite ethereal. You can almost imagine it is moving, like an aurora. Beautiful.

Lovely image. Heaps of cool detail. Can you explain how you get RGB stars with just narrow band data? Or did you take RGB too?

Thanks again.

Paul - no RGB taken. I have developed a great technique to take NB data and get a fairly good RGB representation out of it. Not that its necessary. To add 15 mins RGB star data to any NB image is very easy, and its just 15 minutes.

I guess we could have a chingwag about it over a few beers on Saturday night?

The RGB I think I have sorted but definitely interested in your process simulated RGB. I can distinquish it from broad band. Will definitely have a chat on Saturday night. And; of course a couple of beers.
