Heya guys thought i would share my backyard pier project with you guys. Due to having 2 palm trees which i love to much to loose for the sake of an observatory, I have decided to put in 2 piers. These are made from 90NB Light Black cut at 1m, gustests are mig welded for extra support and strength to the 300mm x 300mm x 12mm mild steel base plate. Lol due to where i work this cost me nothing but time and the cost of the 90NB pipe.
I used 20mm ramset's at 160mm to fix the first pier to the concrete, please note the cement i used for this flat area is a custom mix of high strength water tight concrete, its not your every day run of the mill gp mix.
I still have to build the second pier this week for the far back of the yard, I also have to drill some holes for the mounting of the meade starefinder EQ. I will also be giving it a nice 2pac epoxy coat today

, but only after a beer and some prep work haha
