High Res H-alpha Transit.
Haven't got around to the prominence data yet.... but have to say I'm pleased with the detail in the disk.
This is a *large* image. I reduced it about 40% to be web-friendly,
but at 2500 pixels a side, probably not i-pad friendly.
the link is here

The new iPad probably handles this better than most computer screens. Except for the new Macbook Pro, of course
Cheers

Just comes up as a icon on my "new" i-pad. Is there a setting one can make to alter that?

Thanks... pretty chuffed with the really fine detail, it will probably end up as my standard solar processing technique from now.

Not sure what it's unhappy about. Can you see it if you visit the image link directly?

This has got me interested now… I'm going to get hold of an iPad and see for myself what's going on there
Cheers

Yes, found the culprit. iOS does not handle large progressive .jpg's.
I converted the data to an optimized .jpg and now loads fine

I'm pretty happy with the lack of processing artifacts i.e ghosts and "double-data" (that looks like fine structure, but is simply imperfect layering) in this one.
Glad you enjoyed the final result.

I do like the title of the image as well. Needless to say I also had the 'Police' soundtrack a few times while I was imaging on the day.
The fine structure on the sun is magnificent. I'd love to learn the details of your processing sequence to determine if it's my equipment or my workflow that's letting me down.
cheers,
Andrew.

Humm...my processing sequence might be a powerpoint presentation at an AAIC one day
Good pick-up! the esoteric file name was indeed based on Gordon Sumner's lyrics
