Mars & Saturn 19th June

Well Bundy hit it's seeing straps tonight for this time of year. It was still pretty unstable, ranging from a 3-9/10 so it was a case of keep everything crossed & hope for at least 2K good frames in each AVI.

Mars @ F50 + a resize and Saturn @ F22 + a resize.

Exceptional result with Mars Asi and a superb Saturn.

Considering how far past opposition Mars is and how much it's apparent dia has shrunk that is a remarkable result. Of course, Saturn is my favorite planet and this is another fine Saturn to add to your portfolio for this apparition.

Unfortunately I had to create a new F30 image as a JPG (hence some compression artefacts) to get it onto this forum. I only usually like to post PNG's.

Very nice work John. I particuarly like the second Saturn. Sharp and well detailed. As Trev said Mars is remarkable due to its apparent diameter.

Thanks Peter. No mate, pretty well dropped mono for planets. Can't really see the sense in it with the results I'm getting from the OSC Sure, I might get a slightly better result after 3X the work but I already know I won't get 3X the quality as some seem to think you automatically get

Good to hear from you Paul. Yes, but I'd like some excellent *STABLE* seeing now to top Mars off if I can get a result like this in these types of random conditions.

G'day Chris & thanks. Nah, seeing was up & down like a yoyo which is actually better than stable rubbish. Luckily, enough reasonable frames were captured in the 6 min. window of opportunity on each target to deliver the goods
