FS-60C with case, eyepieces, diagonal etc.

Hello all,

My telescope usage has plummeted ever since I bought my Canon IS binos for birdwatching, so I am selling most of my remaining equipment.

------------
Description
------------

The package includes the following:

  1. Takahashi FS-60C
  2. Takahashi clamshell (tube holder) to fit FS-60C
  3. Takahashi 1.25" Star Diagonal prism
  4. TeleVue 5mm Nagler Type 6
  5. TeleVue 8mm Plössl
  6. TeleVue 11mm Nagler Type 6
  7. TeleVue 24mm Panoptic
  8. TeleVue 2x Barlow 1.25"
  9. Pelican 1520 case
  10. Three dessicant tins.

The condition of the OTA, clamshell, and diagonal are literally like new, no exaggeration. The telescope and diagonal have been sparingly used and were packed safely in the Pelican case when in storage, and the clamshell was carefully handled and always covered when not in use. The only sign of use is a small accumulation of dust on the objective lens (refer to photo), and a small amount of dust in the diagonal (insignificant).

The eyepieces and barlow are all in mint condition. There are one or two marks from the use of compression rings, but they are consistant with careful use. Note: I do not have the original eyepiece boxes, and the TeleVue stickers are applied to the Pelican case.

See below.

I can take additional photos of any item if required.

-------
Pricing
-------

I am selling all items in this classified as a package. Please don't ask me to split them up! (I may do so at a later date at my discretion.)

If you were to buy each of these items brand new, the combined price would be AUD ~$2700. Considering the like new / mint condition of all items, the package price is AUD $1700.

---------
Postage

---------

Buyer pays for shipping and nominates their preferred method. I pay the insurance.

I live in Gladstone QLD, which is a regional city 5 hours north of Brisbane. If by chance anyone actually lives nearby they are welcome to inspect the package in person.

Please contact me via PM or email.

I have previously sold a TV-102 to a user on this forum. I can provide the details if required.

Thanks for reading.

Hi Cres , I have one of these little beauties and its my most used scope . The optics and build quality are you the best and as you know they throw up an image that belies there small 60mm size ,I reguarly use 160x and it will take more without image break down , and the other end 11x and 6 degrees with my 31mm Axiom LX is awsome .
I have had people not beileving that mine is only 60mm , the optics are that good .
Good luck mate and this package is a good deal .
Brian.

Brian, thank you for your kind words.

I agree, the optics in my FS-60C are very well-corrected. Resolution limit aside, I have never thought to myself "the FS-60C can't handle this"; it's always the seeing or vibration / lack of practicality from my alt-az mount that gets in the way of high magnification, never the scope itself. You're also correct about the wonderful low-mag, wide-field views -- I use the 24 Pan for just that purpose.
