Mallincam Xtreme and extras

Just an EOI at the moment, but due to having to move house I will be selling up 90% of my gear.

I have a Mallincam Xtreme, that has only been used a half dozen times, has the extra long cables, the MFR5 focal reducer, the Mallincam USB capture hardware and the carry bag, Aussie power supply and some other bits and pieces.

All up it was over $2000 with freight and GST etc.
I'd be looking at around $1500 shipped if anyone is interested I can post photos and so on.

It is an astounding piece of kit, I never bothered using an eyepiece after getting it. Even through an ED80 you get real-time full colour views of nebulae, galaxies etc. I used it quite a bit to check framing before photographing with the QHY8.
The kids really enjoyed it as I ran it to a small portable colour telly inside the house, and I slewed to targets and they looked them up on the ipod and shared the info on each item as it appeared on the TV screen, all from the comfort of the loungeroom while the scope was on the back porch.

For anyone that doesn't know, the Mallincam attached to your scope like a normal CCD camera, or like an eyepiece. It has a standard S-Video and Composite video output on it. You plug that into a TV or one of those little LCD screens/Car DVD players and the images from your scope appear on screen in full colour. It allows you to see amazing detail and colour even in light polluted cities. So instead of a faint white haze, you get a lovely colour Orion Nebula, no need for averted imaginated to see the details. Great for kids and for my folks who struggle to see through an eyepiece.

Only selling due to moving costs

I'll see if I have any on the home server.

If you log onto the Night Skies Network, you can see people there using various Mallincams.
