Rare Opportunity for amateur imagers!

Hello all Horsehead nebula imagers!

I was contacted by the Hubble Heritage Team who will be releasing a new WFC3 image of the Horsehead Nebula in mid-April for Hubble's anniversary. Before then, they are hoping to collect and showcase amateur and professional images of the Horsehead. They are hosting a flickr group (http://www.flickr.com/groups/2190981@N21/) and a tumblr (http://horsehead-revisited.tumblr.com/) and they are also accepting submissions to hubbleheritage.create@gmail.com.

They are especially interested in hearing individual "Horsehead stories" that we can ultimately include as part of the image release. This is a great opportunity for the amateur imaging community to show the Hubble Heritage Team our imaging ability!

Kindest Regards,
Ken Crawford, President
Advanced Imaging Conference

Ken, I'm sure they're going to get some great submissions. Some of the horsehead images I've seen on this site are so detailed you could almost see what that horse was thinking…

Cheers
Steffen.

I'll TRY one of these days, seeing I have the new CCD.

Here's the best I ever did with the DSLR. Nothing great, but SOMETHING. Someone's tutorials helped me dig out the details

Excellent ! the more the better! Zolt and Lisa have been to AIC two times now and know what we can accomplish. That is why they contacted me to put the word out for submissions.

Thanks guys for the submissions! It makes us all look good and the more attention we can get as imagers with a world class group like "Hubble Heritage" the better it is for our hobby (Passion)!

Lewis

I really like your horse head image, I'd be very happy with that especially with a dslr. I wouldn't sell yourself short i have been impressed with many of your images.

Compared with mine especially, I have often wondered why you post in the beginner section. You may get more benefit with the big boys!

Cheers

Gav
