Omega Centauri, improved processing.

Hi,

Here's my latest image of omega centauri, taken last night with the moon up. I wanted to image it in moonlight to compare with my first effort back in march, which was also taken under the same conditions.

I think it's a big improvement on my first effort!
Both versions supplied.

Hope you like the new version.

Telescope 8” f/4 astrograph on a HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Unmodded Canon 1100D at ISO 800.
32 x 60 sec subs ISO 800,
20 dark frames, 16 flat frames and 11 bias.
Stacked in DSS and post process in Phototshop.
Cheers,

Justin.

Nice Justin, however when you open it in PS the black point is clipped on the histogram

Thanks Mike, Steve and Trevor .

Yep clipped in the black again, usually happens when I'm trying to filter out the blue moonlight background.

Any suggestions on this ?

Cheers,

Justin.

Justin had a go check the histogram on this don't know if you think any better or worse brings out the blue a bit more Omega is full of blue staglers, processing can be a lot of trial and error

Cheers

Thanks Trevor,

Your right about trial and error, sometimes I think I've got an image right, then have a look the next day and it needs more work.
Some times I end up with a dozen different versions.

Cheers,

Justin.
