goto gone crazy

Hi, My Meade LXD 75 auto goto system crashed last week while I was using it,it went haywire and scope started going one way then the other all by its self, then shut down.I could not get it to work again.I Spoke to meade, they were not intrested as it was a deleted model.
My question is can it be fixed or should i replace the system?
I would prefer a manual system, but meade do not have any for my model scope...is there another manual mount out there that would fit my tripod,or do i need a new tripod as well???? anyone able to help.thanks

Sounds like a pinched wire , either in the hand piece or mount , do you know how to use a multi meter ? if so just start at the mount and test every wire from start to the end , inside the hand controller , this may take a while and the covers need to come off the moters and hand controller , but you may be able to find the pinched wire ? ,
I have seen this beforte in a Celestron GOTO mount ( it went hay wire before it stopped as well , the pinched wire was replaced along with a fuse and all was good ) , it was a wire in the mount , the RA drive if my memory serves .
Good luck /.
Brian.
