May AS&T

Got my copy earlier this week..

Another good issue.. loved the article about space junk.

My image of Jupiter from Feb 25 is on page 53!

David Frew has a great article about Eta Carina on page 55.

Brian Nolan (Miapladicus) has a nice review of the 8" f/4 Southern Cross, which he won last year! (lucky bugger!)

Mike Sidonio has some nice images in there (I think they were the ones he won with at SPSP), and Brad Moore's magnificent Tarantula shot looks fantastic on page 96.

All in all a good read, with some interesting articles.

I got mine last Wednesday from the newsagent. A good read again. Nice article on the Ryder Observatory, by Rodney Watters.
I don’t think that 8” reviewed is suited to such a mount. I have the same mount and it was too small for my 6” Mak!
Also I did not like the orientation of the charts for comet Schwassmann-Wachmann 3
Wrong way up or down for our skies.
Turn the map upside down I suppose!
Other than that very good read again.

Another good issue, congrats Mike-Joop-Salway, Brad for your awesome Tarantula and Mike Sidonio.
Excellent images everyone.

I usually get my copy early in the mail.
Wednsday comes along and still no mag in the mail.
I was getting worried cos I knew my subscription hadn't run out yet.
Well my family had decided to play a trick on me didn't they.
The kid's had grabed the mail early Monday morning and hidden my mag.
They thought it was funny watching dad squirm and ask 10 times a day if my AS&T has arrived yet.

Well.....Rocket Boy went into orbit when he found out didn't he.

Re-entry should be sometime next week.....watch this space.

I've only just subscribed, this will be my first issue, so I wasn't too worried about it not having arrived yet until I heard all you guys saying your's had arrived ....... I'm especially keen to get my hands on the bonus "subscription" DVD ..... it can't some soon enough, but as of tonight it still isn't in my PO box.

Hell, my pay hasn't arrived in the bank yet either and it was due Thursday, guess my luck is just in right now! Maybe this is making up for all the great viewing the last coupleof weeks since I got my scope - so maybe I'll just shut up and accept the skies instead.

congrats Mike, a very nice Jupiter indeed...but those deep sky shots, are they spectacular or what, seemed to have raised the bar once again!
