TMB 92 light refractor

Hi-has anyone used a TMB 92mm light refractor, and is it good?

Hi Laurie

I have the TMB 92ss and love it.

I am no expert, but I can't really fault the optics.

From what I understand, the TMB92-L has identical optics to the ss, the only difference is no feather touch focuser.

In case you haven't seen it, have a look at the attached review and this link.

I also have another review from a different astro magazine, specifically for the TMB92-L, which is in pdf format but is too big to attach here.

If you pm me your email address, I can email you a copy.

Use one.
The optics is good but then, aperture fever soon took over.
Good for lunar viewing but not for DSO.
Better to save money for at least a 120mm refractor or larger.

At f/5.5 it is fine for imaging DSOs, only widefield stuff though.

Thanks for your input, guys. I used to have an Astro-Physics 6" EDT many years ago, and would love another big refractor, but health issues mean I now have to go small and lightweight.
Would love to read the review of the 92mm light, Al-I have sent pm with my email address-thanks very much!
