5mm Hyperion

Hi all,

Since I sold my C5 I have not again used this beautiful eyepiece. It was a perfect match for my C5 to get the most out of it, but it is too much for my other scopes, so I need to find a new home for it.

Views are sharp to the edge of the 68degree FOV and a fantastic 20mm of eyerelief. It is in excellent condition with no markings on either the 2" or 1.25" barrels. Comes with its lens caps.

The unique feature of these Hyperions is their "modular" design. The front 1.25" barrel element can be removed and it comes a 22.5mm 2" eyepiece. By adding any combination of the 14mm and 28mm extension tubes, further permutations of 4mm, 3.2mm and 2.6mm focal lengths are achievable. These extension tubes do not come with this eyepiece.

A further focal length is achieveable on removing the 1.25" barrel element and using a 2X 2" barlow to give an effective focal length of 11.25mm.

One eyepiece, and upto 6 different focal length possibilities.

I have in my collection the 24 and 13mm Hyperions which have now become my workhorse eyepieces. I love 'em to bits.

Asking $140 including postage in Australia.

It is the one that got away - I had a 5mm and all things considered (bang for your buck etc) it is a great (not so small) EP epecially with the flexibility of the FTR's. You can get it down to very low fl and still maintain 20mm ER and no additional barlows to boot! - thats hard to beat.
