I have to admit I struggled with this one, poor seeing, dubious flat fields, needs more data hence: an imperfect h-alpha blend.

In RGB, the star density swamps this rather faint nebula, which is why I suspect so many have succumbed to imaging this field in NB...in which I have to admit it.... looks far more interesting.

Enough with the excuses! Feel free to comment on the Version-one link here

Whatever struggles you faced, it's still a lovely image. It's nice to see the fine blue reflection nebula trials just above the dragons head, and just below in the dark nebula located stars.

Hi Peter,

That is a very valiant effort. I've said this a number of times -- I feel this is one of the most difficult parts of the sky to do justice to.

I guess you may be right, the narrowband palette suits this one to a tee.

Top stuff!

Thanks guys...sentiment appreciated, but I doubt I'll waste any more precious imaging time (Sydney has clouded over last three nights by 10:00pm) on RGB with this one....

NB was clearly the way to go.
