Thanks, results like this are coming more frequently (finally) after nearly a year of "experimenting"...
All of my pics are done afocally (with the camera held near the eyepiece).
My telescope is a Orion 127mm F12.1 Mak-Cass, purchased in the USA, made in China. I had a 150mm Mak-Cass for less than a week; I couldn't tell the difference, so I sent it back.
My camera is a Fuji S5000 Digital. I used the 3 megapixel setting, sometimes I use the 6 meg (interpolated sp?) I think the first pic here was using my 42mm or 30mm Celestron Ultima and some camera zoom, and the other two look to be shot thru my 15mm Celestron plossl with a little camera zoom to cut down the vingeting sp? oops) Camera set to black and white. I may have had my 80A light blue filter on the ep's with those, I can't remember...
Manual camera settings and manually focus camera as well. Camera rests on a SteadyPix universal camera mount and I set the auto timer on the camera, and hope for the best.
I usually take 20-40 pics, go in the house and download, see that I got, and go back out and make ajustments and try again, and again, etc. Did I forget anything....???? That's all there is to it. LOL
