Maxvision 152mm Carbon Fiber f/4.8 Mak-Newt (relisting)

I'm relisting this again, with another price drop.

I'm not using this scope enough to justify keeping it.

Optical Type : Maksutov- Newtonian
Aperture : 152 mm (6")
Focal Length : 731mm
Focal Ratio : f/4.8
Viewfinder : 8x50 Straight Thru-Finderscope with Illuminated Reticule
Focuser : 2" 10:1 Two Speed Crawford Style

Comes with a nice Aluminium carry case, end cap, rings, Vixen Dovetail bar and the original dovetail bar, extension ring for the focuser and a collection of 'spare parts' I have removed from the scope. I've replaced most of the screws with Stainless steel hex screws and I have powder coated the ring that holds in the corrector plate. The mirror clips have been removed and the mirror fixed in place so it holds collimation better.

I found tube was flexing under the focuser, so that has been reinforced with a sheet of aluminium inside the tube.
The primary has been center spotted with a Catseye hotspot.

It's a fast scope and has remarkably flat field over a DSLR size chip. The are no spider veins to make diffraction spikes and you don't need a field flattener. The focuser can hold up my Canon 500D, but that's about the limit I would say.

This is really an Astrograph - so there isn't enough back focus for a diagonal.

I've attached a picture I took with this scope. The Losmandy D dovetail plate / guide scope / mount etc in the attached pictures are not included.

Now $390 ono
PM me if you are interested and want more info.

James
