Eta Carina from SPSP

Hi Everyone

I didn't really get much imaging done at the SPSP. I spent most of my time experimenting with a 2" barlow I bought on the Saturday morning. In any case, here is the result. I only ended up with 6 useable images, but the increased magnification is pleasing. I removed the Barlow lens from the barrel and screwed it directly onto my MPCC. It seems to work OK in this configuration.

Canon 300D (unmodified), Meade LXD55 SN10, MPCC, 2xbarlow, 6x2min, Calibrated in IP 2.75, other processing in Photoshop CS2.

Comment welcome as always.

Cheers

I always do some colour adjustment, to achieve a resonable colour balance, but the colours are fairly close to how the camera recorded them.

Cheers

Yea Scott, I was peasantly suprised to see how well the MPCC performed when using the barlow cell attached directly to it. It does a great job.

Sheesh, Striker! You weren't supposed to look that closely!

It can't be guiding errors, because the subframes were unguided.

I think it's a combination of tracking errors and not enough subframes to statistically remove them.

Also, this is the first time I have imaged with a focal length of 2 metres. That may have something to do with it too. I will do better next time, I promise.

Cheers
