Hi all, I got a couple of these while shooting comet C/2010 R1 Linear last night, and at first was a bit puzzled as to what they were. Had these streaks within the FOV that continued in the next few exposures. Did a calculation as to the length of the streak for a 3 minute exposure, and by my measurement = 2656". Geo-stationary satellite would require 2700", so with my error taken into consideration, I could easily be out by the required 44" .

Your image is centred at 15:59:10.628 +05:30:00.00 and is 01:06:56.562 x 00:44:32.488

If you know exactly where and a what time the image was taken you can determine what satellite it would be.

Hi Andrew, the capture time was 11:32:14 p.m. CST. I don't know if the camera recorded capture time, records the beginning or the end of the exposure.

Lester, my best guess at the satellite is NSS-9. According to Unimap the trail is 0.7433 degrees long.

C/2010 R1 should be at about the yellow dot.
