Cosmic Snot
NGC 2070 and surrounding knots and bubbles of beautiful Ha nebulosity.
Synthetic RGB - 225mins Ha data + 210mins OIII data combined as Red=Ha, Green=OIII Green data, Blue=OIII Blue data.
Scope: Tak 90...FL=408mm @ F4.5
Camera: Astro 40D (iso 1600)...Ha data 15x15mins, OIII data 21x10mins
Mount: HEQ5 Pro

Don't think Iv'e seen NGC 2070 quite like that, but that's the best thing about this forum is all the different techniques used to produce these great images.

Very very good.
I read the gear and I was surprised it was an astro 40D. I am even more impressed, I assumed it was with a dedicated CCD. The 40D is a way cool camera.

Exceptional image Doug, and when you take into account this was taken with a DSLR, its an exceptional image.
Also goes to prove that exposure count.

I must confess I was bowled over as this came up on the screen Doug, let alone the full high res. Possibly your best image? How long have you been hiding that Tak in your arsenal? (and the 40D you have working wonderfully obviously)

Nice repro Doug. The core is nicely defined now. How much is the image cropped?

Not too much Craig - just enough to get rid of the stacking artefacts and the slight FOV differences between the Ha and OIII data sets.
