EQ5 with Meade goto - plus some other bits

I have for sale –

EQ5 with Meade Autostar GOTO and polar scope. The mount and counter weight has some paint missing here and there, and the tripod spreader has been repaired at some point ( see photos ), but these don’t effect the performance.
I have used this mount for a couple of years now and it always performs well.
It is an excellent mount for someone just starting in astrophotography, or just a good grab n go.
I’ll even throw in a spare Meade DS motor ( can be used on either axis )
$400 – pickup preferred but can post at buyers expense ****SOLD****

I also have a Meade 12mm illuminated reticle with a home made dimmer switch.
$35 plus postage. ***SOLD***

Also an Orion EZ Finder II - red dot finder. The dovetail has been filed down a little ( see photo ) but still fits into a dovetail bracket and doesn’t effect the operation .
$20 plus postage.

Hi just wondering what sort of load capacity the mount has. Also how accurate do you find the GOTO.

Hi Cam

I think they are rated to carry about 9kg. But balanced correctly you could probable push 10kg.
As far as accuracy, if your correctly polar aligned, goto and tracking are very good. I have been using this mount for a couple of years mostly for astrophotography with some pretty good results.
These were taken on this mount , through an ED 100 and a modded 20d (guided).
I recently upgraded to an EQ6, otherwise I would still be using it.

Pete
