Modded 100ED Pictures

I recently obtained a 100ED with a view to adapting an Astro Physics focuser to it. See this thread
http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ead.php?t=8615
The clouds finally went away after 23h last night.
Here are a couple of pictures taken with it
Carina again!

Details Canon 5DH. Hutech LPR filter,100ED with Astro Physics focal reducer working at a reduction of 0.71, so 640mm FL and F6.4, ISO 800, 19X120s, stacked with Registar, only adjusted curves in PS.
Lagoon and Trifid

Same conditions except 11X120s exposures.

The other important thing is I used Guidemaster for autoguiding and it works brilliantly. At one stage lost guiding due to cloud, got the orientation of the mount nearly back to the original position. The original guidestar was in the field of the webcam, told Guidemaster to use last (or original) guidestar and the program automatically moved it back to the original exact position and then started guiding! So the two sets of exposures were of the exact same field. One to Guidemaster, zero to cloud!

The great thing now is there is almost no vignetting due to the AP focuser which is 2.7 inches.

thats beautiful Bert very crisp pics from the ED100. I had to stay up till 4am last night to get some clear sky in my end of Melb. My targets were also the Lagoon/Trifid and ETA. Couldnt find the Trifid but with your pic, i now can star jump to it Did some shots with your focal reducer, will try to process them abit later.

That is a terrific photo. What brand is the 100mm ED you are using and how much if you don't mind me asking. I am currently in the market for a good telescope. Not been real impressed at some of the dealers I've come across so far.
