PST and eos 550d focus

Hi,

Has anyone tried to use an eos camera and a pst together - I have had several attepts today and while i do get an image i don't seem to be able to reach focus with or without 2x barlow.

Is it an impossible task?

Lucky i still have the dmk.

cheers
KAren

ps also does anyone know what to do with a dead EQ6 hand controller - just up and died - I don't think it likes the sun?

Hi Karen,
From my experience of trying to hook a EOS camera up to a PST I can tell you that you are not alone in this. The image plane of the pst does not extend back far enough into the DSLR to acheive focus. To get focus I had to buy a Baader Mark III Hyperion Zoom 8-24mm Eyepiece which has a thread under the eye rest that can screw into the Canon T-ring with the aid of a M43 to T-2 adaptor.
I went this solution as I did not have a something like the DMK. Most people do stick DMK's onto PST's as it is the better option. Not sure why you would be trying to go the other way?
Hope this helps
Greg

Been there and failed.
But I still managed some not too shabby afocal shots.
Just butt your camera lens up to the ep, focus and shoot. Too easy.
