Saturn April 1st

No joke, I think I'm finally getting the hang of this.

Taken through my 10" Dob using a Canon 550d in Movie Crop Mode. 2x Big Barlow used. 2364 frames stacked in Registax 5 and processed in CS3.

A nice result JJJ. That's a good number of frames to stack, which gives you a nice smooth result.

What was the seeing like? Have you also tried a smaller subset of frames? Sometimes when the seeing is variable I find a smaller number, say 1200 or so, gives a good result too. Processing is half the fun, isn't it?

beaut image JJJ.
Might be worth trying drizzle stacking - you may be able to recover even more resolution from the undersampled data. regards Ray

Certainly getting there Jeanette, have seen some pretty impressive results around various astro forums of planetary work done with DSLR cameras.

Well done.
