Leo Triplet LRGB

Hi folks,

now I finished my Leo Triplet. 39x600s for L and 10x600s for every channel in RGB with Moravian G2-8300 and TL APO 80/480.

Here the full field. Sadly I lost my fight against the dumping. Please do not pay too much attention to the ovoid stars.

and a crop.

Cheers

Werner

Very nice Werner. Not sure what you meant by the dumping?

Your stars are either yellow or white, you'd usually have a few blue ones so my impression is the image is a bit too yellow and blues are too subdued.

Greg.

You should be very happy with that Werner! You've captured the tidal stream on 3628 and you've got some good detail & colour going - nicely done!

I think the colours are fine but I see what Greg is saying. It's a fairly minor critique perhaps, but you could correct it easily with some small adjustments to the blue curve.

Cheers, Marcus

Thanks Marcus and Greg for your nice comments. Dumping, my english . I mean that the cam is not placed absolutely flat. So you can see the elongated stars in the top left corner.
The TL APO is a very nice telescope. I am happy with it, but I have always problems with the mounting of the cam.

Regards

Werner

Hi Werner

Nice work on a favorite! Color, can sometimes be a bit tricky and analysis can be confusing.

What I'm seeing is that the midtones in the blues are a bit strong(leaving a slight yellow cast) but the blues in the "highlights" are a bit week,so hence the not so satisfactory star color.

So,I believe If you corrected these you would come to a better over all balance.

I still enjoyed the view

Well done, Werner. That's an awful lot of exposure in the L channel. Nice, smooth result and a lot of fine detail for only 480mm focal length.

Thank you Louie and Gram.

I did a little correction in blue. I hope it is better now.

Cheers

Yes, a lot of exposure Werner and it has paid off, I agree with Marcus and it is a lovely shot all round
