I'm finally getting better results with the loan of a Baader MPPC coma corrector. The BINTEL one I've been trying to use has been driving me crazy, and obviously not suited to the 8" f/4.
Any way here's my image of NGC 3324.
Telescope 8" f/4 astrograph - mount HEQ Pro 5 mount - orion mini guider.
Camera Canon 1100D at ISO 800.
13 x 5 minutes subs - 9 dark - 9 flat - 9 bias.
Stacked in DSS median stack.
Processed in Photoshop.
I did minimal processing, still having problems with minimum pass on the stars but I'm really happy with this image.
Making great progress, Justin. Nice image with good contrast, colours and really sharp stars. If you examine the histogram in Photoshop though, you'll see that it's pretty heavily clipped at the black end.
I like the framing, stars look good and yes it is black clipped but everything looks pretty right overall. Just some processing work and you will have a great image.
Thanks Bert for that image for reference.
I must say I find it a little confusing finding a standard to work from. There's so many images out there to look at!
