Saturn 28th March

Even though the seeing looked ok, it wasn't. Took me longer than usual to assemble a passable final.

Your passable is my dream-shot!

I'm getting closer though.

Where abouts do you image from?

I'm thinking of getting setup to drive around a bit in search of better seeing, I'll have to brush up on what sort of landscape suits the best, I have plenty of variety locally.

I know what you mean Asi, but still a nice rendition anyway.

Cheers

That looks like very avg seeing making the result all the more impressive. Sometimes you can see detail in the avi but when you go throught the stills in Regx no detail seems to appear as it did in the avi.

John.

Thanks all. The reason behind the animation upload is not to make ME look good, but the camera, the software, the remarkable job that these wonderful stacking/aligning programs actually do. Well ok, you have to have a certain amount of skill to put it all together but once that's done (years of practice) it becomes almost like an automated process. Someone called me 'a machine' & that's almost true..

Speaking of machines, here's another; G'day Rob

I can also upload a few sections from the same AVI where it emulates a sparrow in full flight escaping a bird of prey.. She's bewdiful alright. Mind you, I remember the seeing down south; I was weened on the stuff being born there. I'd rather be where I am now given the choice..

Yes, well when I were a lad it was uphill both ways, in the rain, and we never had seeing that good...

But seriously, having a moving image with brief instants of detail seems to be enough for the computer to align on (especially with multiple align points). Whereas the jetstream just seems to fuzz it out so that you can't get even fleeting detail.

Been jetted out down here for weeks now!

Nice result though John.

LMAO Ivan. Yes I've heard most of them as well. All praise to sensitive chips & bloody good programs is all I have to say.

BTW this was shot with a 95% aperture mask, in gale-force winds & rain with a rabid dog chewing at my ankles

And yep, My jetsream is due anytime now Not a thing to be done with that problem except night lawn bowls.
