Mounting an ED80 on a C9.25, options?

For Hyperstar work, I can't use my OAG, so I figure I'll pull the ED80 out of the shed and jam the Lodestar into the back of it.

Any suggestions as to the best kit to purchase to mount it on the C9.25 EdgeHD?

The ED80 currently has a set of rings on it and a small vixen bar on the bottom, but I'm willing to change to anything that will be quick to fit and remove, but nice and solid for guiding.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I am not sure how different the C9.25 options are from the C8, however my setup for piggy backing an 80 refractor is with guide rings onto a purpose designed Losmandy mount for the C8.

I had the original orange vixen dovetail bar but when i bought it I also had the Losmandy celestron C9.25 dovetail plate, because i had a set of Losmandy vixen rings I flipped the setup in this picture. I think it would not matter either way and would be nice and stable for you.

I guess the extra rail would also help stiffen up the tube.

hi Peter, I am puzzled as to why you can't use the OAG with hyperstar, can you not take out the ST80 and slot the ED 80 in
I have seen people putting their ED 80 on a SBS plate, have you though about that, or are you set on a piggy back setup?
There are mounting blocks for c8 tubes or c11 from Bintel but not sure if they sell for 9.25" tubes.

I think the uneven weight distribution of a SBS setup might add another level of complexity that I don't need. I'm a simple bloke.
Being able to mount another scope along the Axis of the C9.25 appeals to me more.

I am loathe to go down the guide-scope path at all, I have become addicted to the simplicity of off axis guiding, but don't think I have a choice with the hyper star.

I see what you mean now Peter, I was assuming you already had an Orion short tube 80 (st80) with your auto guider.
If you want to stack the ED 80 on your 9.25, then give Bintel a call to see if they make mounting blocks that fit 9.25, otherwise you will need to grab a set of mounting plates and bolt the ED on top like Sam said below.
I mounted a ST80 on my C8 using mounting blocks, they are much cheaper than plates ($35). You can see a photo of it on the show us your equipment thread.
