Hi all
I finally adapted the 2 inch focusser eyepiece holder of my Meade 6 inch F3.6 Schmidt Newtonian to take my Multi Purpose Coma Corrector, hoping it would remove some of the coma it exhibits, as it has for users of the larger LXD scopes. It has removed even more coma than I had hoped, only a tiny bit in one corner remains, and that may only be because the collimation is out a bit.
Heres a quick 2 x 100 sec shot of Eta Carina between areas of high cloud.
ISO 1600 In camera NR on, stacked/flatfielded in IRIS , Baader UHCS filter used too. Shot with my modded 350D

I now cant wait to test this system out on the Lagoon and Triffd (if the darn cloud ever clears)
Im amazed to have a scope as fast as F3.6 that now has reasonable star images across the field

The scope only cost me $400 when a mate got one for me and himself from the States when he was over there in the late 1980's
I dont know why Meade discontinued them, especially considering how well their larger LXD cousins go.
