Hi all,
My long awaited QSI 683wsg-8 has arrived, and I had a chance to shoot some quick test images with it during the week though the break in the clouds.
This camera seems awesome, very solid and robust and providing plenty of cooling for my purposes. With our typical ambient nighttime temps here in Auckland of 15C and lower I can achieve -30C on the chip without problems.
Here are some pics of the camera itself and some
very quick and dirty LRGB test shots:

Please ignore the severe coma!

This was deliberately taken without my Baader MPCC since I don't have the proper spacer for it yet. And collimation is obviously also a bit off, towards the upper right quadrant of the image. Will be easy to fix though and I'm very happy with the light gathering power and the
large FOV.
There is also noticeable vignetting due to the fact that my secondary mirror cannot fully illuminate the larger area of the KAF-8300 chip, so I'll need a larger secondary but I expected that.
I will post an update once I get a chance to play some more with it - now we're in the middle of a week-long rainstorm here it seems...
Cheers,
Rolf
