Early M42

I figure I've spent so much time collecting and processing M42 this year, it might now be the earliest M42 for next season.

Anyway, in Dec and early January before the La Nina set in forever up here, I collected quite a bit of HaLRGB data for a 2 frame mosaic. I'm still getting (more) grey hair finishing the mosaic, but here's some detail from part of the 2nd frame. I was worried about the yellow bits until seeing Marco's rendition in recent weeks.

HaLRGB 120:90:72:72:32 = approx 6.5hrs each frame (5 and 4 mins subs, some 45 and 60 secs also)
8" Newt/QHY9/MPCC/Heq5Pro/IDAS LPS
Taken from the Brissy Burbs.

Promising enough to keep trying to sort out the mosaic anyway I think.

Great job so far. I like your color pallet

How do you find the IDAS LPS ? Out of interest have you tried with and without it ?

Lots of detail there Rob! This should turn out to be a very nice mosaic.

La Nina setting in forever! Let's hope not

Back home in WA, my wife reports it's been a long, hot & dry spell over there. Only smog here in Tokyo where I am residing at the moment. But I'll be home soon and hope La Nina doesn't arrive in WA when I get back (and it probably will)

Thanks for the encouragement guys. Mosaic processing 5 filters with dodgey flats and vignetting is certainly a challenge, but hopefully I'll be able to get a decent final M42 and Running man out of it. It's surprisingly difficult to get a good run at M42 from SE Qld in recent years.
