Had some clear but average seeing sky couple of nights back. (First frame was 1.85 fwhm last frame was 2.9fwhm)

Saw Peter Wards version of this and thought it would be fun to try image. Not too bad considering its a 7 or 8 year old camera.

Image Data: 7 x 10 min Ha Bin 1 x 1
Camera: SBIG ST2000XM with CFW8A

Thanks Greg. I am happy with the outcome but the stf8300 will give me more resolution for that fine detail.

As far as stf8300 goes, no nword yet. For a camera that was supposed to be ready in Nov I am getting annoyed about the wait. Supposedly ships 20th March but will believe it when I see it.

Didn't my image a month or so ago inspire all this??

Nah its all good.

Love the striation detail in the gas loops, stars as one would expect from the FSQ and dark backgound area noise is well under control. Looking forward to the finished image.

Very nice image Chris and I love the detail that has been extracted. Colour will really make it shine so get out that QHY10

Thanks Allan. Could be interesting to try get color from my QHY 10 and blend with this as apposed to LRGB. Nice experiment if weather ever clears up.

Thanks Paul. I dont actualy remember that image of yours , but just had a look and its just fantastic. I love the star colors you have in it and subtle blending of Ha.

Stars were actualy pretty ordinary in the RAW Lum frames due to seeing. I had to work on them a fair bit to get them to a point I was happy.

Thanks Ross. Tried a few new techniques to get some decent contrast but not too crazy.

I admit I know Not how to use SBig, Ha, filters, binning ect, out of my league, but that is a mighty fine result Chris, as comparing with what Ive seen here and there in general, excellent work

Thanks Bob. being lucky enough to own some top quality gear is more than half the battle. Ha imaging is acually much easier compared to LRGB or HaLRGB imaging.
