Rigel region deep field

Hi all, this view is centred on the position of comet Lovejoy 17-3-12, although it is too faint to be captured with the 200mm f2.8 lens due to aperture limitations. The Witch Head nebula is at top right corner and Rigel is the very bright star. There is a reflection due to Rigel at lower left of the frame. Next time I will try this without the filter on the end of the lens.

15x4 minute exposures with 5D MK II at ISO 2000. North is up.

Inverted view.

Looks good Lester.

You're still chasing that darn comet!

Good on you. I admire your determination.

Ross.

Thanks Trevor and Ross for your comments.

Yes Ross, think I will need patches to get off of the comet addiction.

All the best.
