SCT DIY cooler

Just finished making a cooler for the C9.25.

It certainly is NOT pretty!...But it works GREAT! It's made out of all sorts, mainly cardboard, plenty of masking tape, bitsa 3/4" poly pipe...whatever I could lay my hands on really!

Used a 3" dia 12V fan & made a filter for it as well. At the exit point it blows a cigarette lighter out. It's 'hurricane Alley' in that OTA!!

I won't post a pic, you'll all laugh at me!

Cost Zilch. Well thats not quite true, I paid 10 bucks for the fan 2 years ago.

Oh Matt...need you ask silly questions? ...it's the highly technical gizmo the directs the air flow PAST the secondary mirror mate! I didn't want the flow to directly contact the mirror for some reason.

Gee I hope you get some good seeing Asi.

I'd like some too.

I'm gonna put the scope outside before heading off to watch the Raiders play the Panthers in the NRL (Panthers fan, BTW) and then come home and get set for some imaging - hopefully.

I got up at 4 this morning but the weather Gods laughed in my face .... yet again.

Not sure what the jetstream's doing. The overall forecast is favourable. That cold front has passed through so transparency should be OK.

Here we go ... here we go ... here we go

Geez I'd hate to see that thing fly off at a million miles an hour straight into the secondary URK, maybe you need another roll of masking tape to be sure.

Looks like some kind of smoking device to me..... Nice work though Asigiver, I started to make one myself but didn't finish. I particularly like the spacers.

Cool, Asi! I like it!

Were you around on the Apollo 13 mission when they needed to fit square carbon dioxide filters into a round hole???

Al.

Like to see you try and board a plane carrying one of them.

Well done, the main thing is it does the job.
