Grayscale Saturn 22nd/moon 23rd.

Good seeing here tonight, but must be a lot of atmospheric moisture, & I'm getting the RB split halo effect so I thought I would give it a go in greyscale for something different. I didn't want to waste the evening.

I've always liked B/W images, how about you guys?

6" refractor & toucam. 2X barlow/extension tube/contrast booster/IR/UV cut/fringekiller filters.

Edit. adding a quick moon pic I took this morning. Seeing had turned to pure mush (darn jetstream is here)

I have been so tempted to convert the toucam to the b/w more sensitive chip as I also like b/w shots.

These are very good asi!

Hey Asi, I like your thinking. Looks good, though a bit of squarish pixelation on Saturn?

cheers,

Hi all.

The 'squarish pixelation' you refer to, I can't actually see Rob? (CRT monitor) I see a slight courseness to the image, which is due to a bit too much sharpening.

Thanks all.

Thought I may as well throw another grey scaler on here.

Conditions are terrible here of late Just as well venus is easy to get even in 1/10 seeing!

I like them all John
i remember in the old days of normal terrestial and portrait ect film photography, if you wanted really sharp pics, you shot in B&W

Yes indeed Kearn, I think this 'rule' still applies to digital too? Could be my imagination but I think my B/W's come out a bit crisper.

And thanks mate
