QUAD 405 High end amplifier
I have a QUAD 909 amplifier on it's way so my modded QUAD 405 has to go.
This amplifier is in excellent condition. It has been modified with RCA inputs, new speaker cable binding posts and upgraded electronics.
It produces an amazing sound when connected to my magneplanars, but I need just a bit more juice.
Rated at 100w/side into 8 ohms
If you live in the central west of NSW you are welcome to come and have a listen.
$375, postage extra

Dear Lars,
Interested in this unit.
Please advise price packaged and shipped.
I plan to use the unit in a bi amped system where I have a Harmon Kardon Citation 17S running bass and want something good to do the rest, running Dynaudio speakers.
Obviously packaging would need to be with great care to ensure transit without concerns.
I trust the unit is in fully operational performance and condition without concerns as this is not a short term solution and I want to keep this for some time.
Let me know your thoughts.
Rgds,
Cris.

405
Hi Cris
Shipping will be around $50 - it's a heavy unit. The amp is in very good condition. The only reason for selling the 405 is that the maggies need more oomph, the 909 has more grunt.
I'll go you halves on shipping - $400 shipped to you
Regards
Lars

Is it a version 1 or a version 2 Lars?
It would make a nice addition to my modified Quad 66CD, 33 Pre-amp and 303 Amp.
Absolutely lovely gear the Quad stuff. The 66CD must be one of the most under-rated CD players ever. It is superb. I also have a bunch of other CD players with CDM1, CDM2, CDM4, and even a CDM3 (ultra ultra rare) transports, and the Quad 66CD is truly worthy of such company.
Cheers,
Jason.

Quad 405
Hi Jason,
This is a series 1 quad 405
I put it up against some serious competition: class a Plinius 100w mono blocks and the 405 held it's own. Of course the Plinius has better cosmetics but at 10 times the price I couldn't justify their price.
Regards
Lars
