Who's that at the door!

Secretariat ..

After seeing this mosaic on CN, I went looking for all that curtain behind the horse. It seems I'll need a lot less than 600mm FL to get it in frame.

So I had about a dozen odd Ha shots from the FS-102 and mixed it with 4 each LRGB from the FS-60 that I shot in January and got an image out of it. I found a fair bit of colour noise showed up which is pretty normal when shooting RGB from the suburbs here and I've tried to smooth it out. Possibly a bit red too.

So L+Ha : R+Ha : G : B, 5 Hours total. FS-102 + FS-60.

Added image with more Blue.

Nice and sharp. Top left tilt giving stars egg shape. Ailnitak looks good.

Cheers Nettie.
Didn't notice that Paul.
It looks like a registration error in the red channel. Had to warp the fs-102 subs a bit to match.

This looks great Robin

The stars look lovely and you have Alnitak looking perfect

It's looking a tad red-orange to me so it may benefit from some additional blue.

Very nice result mate

Cheers Mike, It's good to be able to get something from what's basically test images

The problem Paul saw seems to be differing field curvatures between the scopes which effects the registration. I hadn't considered that at all.
I'll try a bit more blue, I did back it off initially as it tends to bloom on stars out of the FS-60.

Yes saw that but it was pretty minor really and Paul had already pointed it out.

Two great looking photos Robin.

Great composition and very sharp.

I really like the colours, especially the second one.

Thanks.

Ross.
