Mars and Saturn 4/5th Feb

Mars and Saturn overnight. The first two attachments are at reduced size and the next two are at original capture resolution. It it my imagination or image artifacts that cause the white lining on the right limb of the planet?

nice images Tom. artefacts seem to show up where there is a step in the contrast - can be from the optics diffraction pattern, sharpening algorithm ringing or even bistable seeing fluctuations/stacking. regards Ray

Thanks Ray. It was visible in the live view video. My capture settings are high contrast and saturation.

Well done Tom, love the way the ice displays flows smooth around Mars globe, like so realistic.
Must have been good seeing.

Always very good, Tom... Great work! I like them very much. In Italy, this week, the weather is very bad and so it will be up to february 13-14; my SW 12" and my DSLR 550 are waiting for Mars and Saturn... I hope for no long time

Thanks everyone. Nunzio I hope you get a clear shot at Mars and Saturn. I've had another go at processing this image, with more detail visible now.
