My EQ6 Mount on NearMap! ( and my Broken down car)

I once in a while check out nearmap for updated pics of my backyard and surrounds.
On Jan 7, I had taken the scope out and played with Phd and drift aligning.
Afterwards, I was to frazzeled/frustrated that I took everything inside but left the mount outside.
Lo and behold, the (spy) plane captured my EQ6 and its shadow the next morning!.
I was stoked!
Also I while back I broke down in my VT and had to pull up at a service station on Great Northern Hwy. Radiator leak. 5 mins from home I deceided to wait an hour for it to cool down and add some water so I could get it back home. In the picture you see me at the front of the car ( bonnet up and silver windscreen protector) trying in vain to fill it up. It was pouring out as fast as I was putting it in.
And by chance, I was captured!
In the end I waited 4 hours for a tow truck. ( BTW I had finished work at 7 am so this pic would have been around 8 am. Long night/day for me!)
Enough ramble.....be sure to check out nearmap.com
Cheers

Hmmmm . . doesn't work for me Bart.
Our area is still in low res and I can't make out any features.

WOW! you have a small back yard for Astronomy!!! All you have is a tiny gap between buildings for seeing anything!

Bummer Ken! Yep not all areas are high res. Perth seems to be covered quiet well! And yes I do struggle.... I want to use alignmaster but when using the trial version ( even with the "expansion pack") could not quite get there. STILL trying though!
Also I generally try and fit in what I want to look at when I can see it in My observable universe.

BTW Yasi floods etc are also available on this site......
click on "flood and more" and then tick your area....... comes up with some interesting bits and pieces. ( almost like google earth....but more updated and in SOME cases, higher resolution)

I noticed a lot of images were missing, they must be in the flood section.
Those 2 were next to each other on the list, sept 2010 and march 2011.
It pretty much rained non stop from sept to march

Maybe to dangerous to fly the plane?
I do remember seeing somewhere on that site that they will endevour to take pics every two weeks......That is a big task. I'm guessing funding would be a factor too.
Maybe the paid version gives more updates.....
I'm happy with what they give atm
