The version with the low pass filter removed may be very good for astrophotography?

Boy, Canon will have to have an absolute ripper 5D Mark iii to compete with this.

Hardly an official source. looks like yet another rumour, I'll hold my breath until Nikon's official announcement.On the other hand, if the spec is correct it may well be worth jumping ship.

Looks like I may need to trade in the D700 D2X if this pans out to be true
only wish for a bit more fps .
