Time Lapse Kilcoy Bridge going under

I took a photo every 10 seconds from 11.51am to 12.41pm.
It only took 50 minutes for the bridge to go under and the creek to break it's banks.

Hi jjj,
Good animation.
Your really copping it up there!

Tell you what I'll swap you some hot and dry for some of that rain, even it out a bit.

Cheers,

Justin.

Sounds like you need a bigger bridge!

It always amazes me what people in little cars will drive through.

LOL That little bridge is on one the main highways heading West!!!
There is a by pass in the planning through. Work starts on it in 2014.

Tripod got wet feet? Great idea for timelapse, Jeanette.

If the last three or four frames was a car stopped with people trying to push it, it would have become a classic!

Great animation JJJ

Quite amazed with the amount of cars and a bike still willing to take a chance.

Great time lapse jjj

Now is it me or do people jump in there cars when it rains.
It happens here as well like they have never seen it before.

Out here at our local reservoir it went over the spillway on Saturday so I closed the main road out to the reservoir whilst it was 500mm in depth at the crossing and people still wanted to go across ( I dont know why .Must be the why did the chicken cross the road syndrome).

They kept on coming so i ended up chaining water filled barriers across the road on top of a cattle grid.

That stopped them.

Now go and drain the water out of those tripod legs jjj

Cheers Kev.

There is a story with the two blokes going onto the bridge.
The police were letting these cars through, without even checking if there was any hazards.
Now if you watch the time lapse, you will see a heavy wooden fence post being washed over the edge of the bridge. And when it was on the bridge proper, and hidden under the muddy water where drivers couldn't see it the two men decided it was safer to risk removing it, than have to watch someone get entangled in possible wire, or get stuck on the log and get stuck in midflow.
