F111 Hornets, Amberly RAAF Base Oct '11

Can still remember these Hornets Circling etc over the RAAF Base last yr.
Been soughting through some folders for a bit of a clean out !
Here are some of the saved ones ?

Sorry to be Picky Bob...but there is no F-111's to be seen in these shots...great shots of the F/A-18F Super Hornet though

I see you got a group shot of the flyover to celebrate the arrival of the last four aircraft.

Hmmm nice shots.

I noticed:
Launch bar on nose wheel (the old A's were finally retro fitted with these to stop nose wheel shimmy);
Nose front wheel landing gear doors ventilated?;
pitot tube on rear of Acft, near hook;
3rd hard point on wings;
One Aircraft had centreline and one inboard wing fuel tank but not on opposing wing!...very different!;
Leading edge extension (LEX) are different to A's;
no vortex disruptor's on LEX's;
They all look like dual seater aircraft;
VHF and EW antennae (on Vertical stabs) different;
Dirty exhaust...are they using the American JP4 fuel?

But suffice to say..nice pics indeed!

They are all dual seat....the F/A-18F is a dual seat aircraft...Pilot and Airbourne Combat Systems Operator.

Yep, I got the planes mixed up, tell the truth I wouldnt know the difference : ) So, thanks for the Info .
Was unreal watching them, one was flying at a 45-50 deg angle, that is with its nose up and was maxing the thrust but stayed at same altitude, forward speed was at a wild guess, 50-60kph, hard to tell, maybe slower ? ?
