Orange Dawn

As Dawn approached on the last day of 2011 at Kioloa Beach, the orange and purple colours in the sky looked spectacular and I spotted this great reflection of the orange sky off the sand as the waves washed out.

The full Kioloa Beach set (so far) is here:
Kioloa Beach. More to be added!

Nice Photos Mike.
It never gets old does it? Seen hundreds and photographed many and they are never dull or uninteresting.
Thanks for the post.

Your processing is gorgeous Mike, made even better by very good exposure control.

Lovely shots Mike.

I like the second one with someones campfire in the foreground. It looks a bit big for driftwood.

Thanks for your comments, guys.

You're right Ric - it's from a campfire.

Too true Trevor - each sunrise can be dramatically different!

Wow!

Was this taken with any sort of ND filters? What was your shutter speed?

Thanks Meru. I used a graduated ND filter. Exposure was 0.5 seconds. f/4.0, 24mm @ ISO640.

Cheers
