Fond memories from my childhood. My favorite Doctor was Tom Baker. The only episodes that gave me nightmares included a green thumb that worked in a green house who turned into a giant man eating plant, and a show about a glowing crystal skull with a giant slug like critter that had tendrils hanging out of its snout. Any one like a jelly baby?

Our household will be watching all of these episodes religiously, even though we have all of them on DVD! Rose Tyler is very dopey, but she has some good on-screen chemistry with David Tennant later on!!!

Liz, You are one of the few people I totally agree with. Christopher was (to me anyway) instantly able to relate to the older generation of Dr Whos.
It is sad that he was not able to become one of the longer term Dr Who's like Tom Baker.
But, I do enjoy the newer episodes but my childhood biases are so towards the older style Dr Who, it is hard to change. However, one needs to remember the younger generation love the newer Dr Whos and for this reason it is still going today which is ultimately great.

I have to also agree, but only to a point! As long as there IS a Doctor, then all is truly well with the world. I really don't mind if the Doctor is a little lacking sometimes, as long as we continue to get the really neat story lines. Dr Who is the is the only canvas to try out different ideas; and yes, they sometimes work and sometimes don't, BUT, keep 'em coming, I say!

I watched an episode of McGeyver yesterday. He was in one of his usual predicaments under seige by three robots that must have been from the Dalek stable. Of course he managed to confuse them into destroying each other.

Been watching Torchwood - Miracle Day and it is quite good. Having been made in the US (and the UK) I thought that it wouldn't be that good, particularly after the last US affray into Dr Who (with Paul McGann). Seeing Gwen Cooper with a pistol blazing in one hand and a baby in the other arm wearing pink earmuffs....priceless. Brings a whole new meaning to balancing a career and motherhood.
Russell T Davies wrote and produced it and once you get past the Americanisms, it isn't too bad. Not as good as Children of the Earth, but not bad, at all. Although I expect criticism anyway, as a lot of people don't like this show. But it is Sci-Fi, and I just suspend my brain and thoroughly enjoy SF, pretty much in all its forms.

Because of the change in production to the US, it does take a little bit to get use to the US production and actors, apart from Jack and Gwen, but, I am into episode 6 and I am warming to the characters. It is a cross between, Warehouse 13, Haven and the old Torchwood.
I think the real issue is that it has taken a more serious view and this shows. But, the story arc is brilliant and has some very strong moral issues.
I like it. Hope there is another season to come.

Oh Liz, i'm so jealous!! I'd love to watch all those episodes again - for the first time.
It's been a long time since we watched Dr Who. Matt Smith destroyed it for us so we're still patiently waiting for the next regen
I really liked Rose, her connection with Christopher AND with David
You're in for such a treat!! But I'm not saying anything ... well, maybe just that Bad Wolf ... no, no, no *shutting up*
