adding alignmaster stars

Could someone do a quick step by step account for adding stars to alignmaster so it's as clear as can be?
Have read threads here but really want to make sure I am going to do it correctly. Have the extra stars list (Sterne 1.txt) printed out and a GPS accurate position.
(as applies to Windows vista)
Many thanks
Graham.

Yes that is the correct file although not exactly sure of the format as yet. I am now using another program to get photographic alignment EQAlign 3 as it is extremely accurate. Alignmster is quick and easy but I have house and fence blocking view below 30 deg. Alignmaster seems to always pick stars that hit the houses. I will use it for field trips though.

Sorry I see EQ align 3- you need an ascom compliant camera for that don't you? + ascom compliant planetarium software?
I had a problem getting my DSLR to work in that

EQAlign version 3 - http://eqalign.sourceforge.net/index-en.html

I use it only the align the mount, it has a number of really cool features but so far have not been able to get them working properly with EQMOD.

I use PHD for guiding instead.

If you have an extra list then as all I did was to copy and paste it into the proper file. Any repeats you can delete the line.

I don't have my astro laptop here at the moment so I would just like to clarify where I go to find the file which to open then paste my new list into.
Is it obvious ?
Cheers for any pointers
