antennae galaxy NGC4038

well after two nights of imaging this faint galaxy i was still not that pleased with the faintness of the antennaes,i think it needs some good dark skies not light pulluted newcastle .Taken with the 10"smicht newtonion 40d cooled 5hrs10min,cls ccd filter

I like the widefield view, galaxies always look fantastic with that floating in space look.

You can stretch this more, the background is looking too black, to show the antennae.

Gotta agree with Martin here; you should be able to push that data a bit further (example attached).

Great stuff there, nice dark background. The CLS filter brings out the nebulosity in the galaxy cores really well.
