Eta Last Night

In an effort to keep pace with Mikes self abuse, (where he wecams with a non driven dob), I decided to try the Mewlon on some DSO's. Now at f12, it is a challenge, to put it mildly.
Looks like a focal reducer is required, and while I thought I had this covered, not quite, it wouldn't reach focus as I had it set up. Never mind.
Nikon D100, four separate exposures totalling about 13 minutes, at ISO1250. Stacked etc in Photoshop.
Maybe when I get my B&W CCD, the focal reducer and Mewlon will come into it's own.
Keep at it.
Gary

Awesome shot Gary! Eta is a lovely target.
Are you planning to do LRGB filter imaging with your B&W?

Thanks Guys,
yes the B&W will necessitate LRGB, but primarily I want to return to Ha.
The starbursts are from the 3 vane spider.

Gary, I'm out shooting the Blue Planetary tonight. Have a go as well. Easy to fid east of Crux.
Might try M83 if my eyes will allow me that late, then perhaps Jupiter if the seeing settles. Crap at the moment..
Isn't wireless networking great allowing me to surf Iceinspace while the Star-Mate does all the work, plus a few extra credits as usual.
Cheers

Hi there.
Heres a pic of Eta with a Meade Cometracker 6inch F3.6 Schmidt Newtonian, and EOS 300D camera, in quite badly light pollouted skies in suburban Newcastle.
