Well after months of cloud and rain i finally got to do some imaging 2hrs 10min almost totally forgot how to process a image and will add more data if its clear again tonight
horsehead 2hrs 10min 10min exp 40d cooled on prostar 127 cls filter
processed in pixinsight

Allan,you've done a very nice job on this,with Alnitak very well controlled...try and tame the red in the flame.

Nice shot as usual. That 127mm really has done a great job and you have framed it really well. Great image and I hope you get the extra data as it's been crappy here for a while and now the moon is going to be present.

A very, very nice Horsehead and l like the detail that you've achieved in the dust cloud. And it doesn't matter how many times I see this nebula, I always think of Reschs Pilsener!!
A very nice image that makes me realise I need to spend at least a week on imaging an object getting as much data as I can rather than the quick one-night-stands I'm currently having!!

Well i have now put 6hrs on this horsehead the longest i i ever donewith the cooled 40d i think it has brought out a lot more detail.

More data = good. I struggle with this deep space region, you've managed it quite well with the 40D. Are you using darks and flats with the 'light' data?

Hi Michael yes iam using darks and flats with each set of light frames and stacking them in deepsky stacker

Thanks Rich it is a very vived area ,i had noticed some horizontal banding in the shot so i did a bit of p/s removal ,i dont think this has taken to much away .AL
