The Sun

Hi Ice in Spacers,

I haven't taken many pictures with my scope despite having it for a couple of years. Obviously it's extremely amateur stuff, but I have been having fun nonetheless and wanted to share (None of my mates are really into it). This is my first atttempt at photographing sunspots with my scope.

Sadly I haven't had any luck seeing Comet Lovejoy due to the bad weather in Gippsland and Melbourne, so I figured I'd at least take a picture of something and the sun briefly made an appearance today (Yay!).

Specs:
90mm Skywatcher Refractor (SW909 with solar filter and focal extender)
Nikon D70
ISO 200
1/500 Sec
A little post processing in Lightroom (Temperature, a little Clarity slider action and cropping)

All criticisms/advice/ideas welcomed!

Some of my other astro stuff that I've attempted can be found here:

Thanks for reading!

Cheers,

Andrew
